26 in 48

The snow has finally subsided here in Missoula, Snowbowl picked up 26 inches of snow in 48 hours!  I think half the town of Missoula took a sick day.
A look over at 'Angel Face' and the 'Cliffs' from Griz chair, with an 80 inch base everything looks good.
Steep, tons of snow and single digit temperatures, hoping that winter continues this pattern and repeats often.

Local paper...

“I’m really excited about being home in Missoula for a full winter, and to spend some time helping to coach the up-and-coming talent on the Missoula freestyle team,” says Olympic hopeful Landon Gardner, who missed a chance to make the U.S. Olympic Ski Team last year due to a knee injury.

Missoula

An early evening hike around Blue Mountain as the storm hopefully settles into the Missoula valley.  The Missoula Freestyle Ski Team training officially starts Wednesday.  I have been doing some online training in preparation for Gardner's Auction Service Annual New Year's Day auction.  This will be our first auction that offers live online bidding... and I will be running the online portion, wish me luck!

Back to Montana

Montana Freestyle had six athletes at the U.S. Selections event in Steamboat Springs this week. Several solid results as well as a few first time National event skiers made for an excellent week. I'm driving back to Montana before Christmas where I'll be all winter coaching for the Missoula Freestyle Ski Team. Hoping we continue to get nailed by storms in Montana! See you in the mountains!

Who says Deer Valley is only for skiers who really like groomers?  Hoping another storm is Utah bound soon.  Fall semester finishes next week, Steamboat Springs Colorado on the 16th, Montana on the 23rd.

Funky edit from today

Hiked up to Guardsman Pass this afternoon with Toolbox so he could get some jump training in.  A short 30 minute hike put us in a great place to build a jump.  While the turns were minimal it was fun just to get out and do something a little different, I guess you could call this day 3...
